One of the greatest, most influential and most popular movies of all time, as well as its equally audacious sequel, get the red-carpet treatment, thanks to a couple years of hard work from film restoration expert Robert Harris. The result is stunning, with a depth of colors that hasn't been seen in more than 30 years.

Fans of The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II will revel in the films' newfound glory. As for those who have yet to make the acquaintance of these American classics, sagas of power, family, corruption and the impossibility of redemption, now's the time.

The five-disc set includes a remastered version of the entertaining, though fatally flawed, The Godfather: Part III, as well as new and recycled extras.

One for the kids: : High School Musical 2:Deluxe Dance Edition (Disney, $34.99): Because they've already watched it a million times, and even that isn't enough! (Don't let on that this has a preview of High School Musical 3, or the kids will never leave you alone.)

One for the archives:: Friday the 13th - The Series: The First Season (Paramount, $49.95): This series (1987-1990) follows some cursed antiques and the shopkeepers who need to retrieve them. It offers some chilling tales and a lead actress who deserves a cult all her own. What's not to love?
