Second Howard emergency team headed to La.

The Baltimore Sun

A new team of Howard County emergency personnel has headed for Louisiana to assist in relief efforts after the recent hurricanes.

Capt. Raymond Petry, Capt. Thomas Norman and Lt. Kevin Frizzell, along with heavy-vehicle operators Jen Shilling and Andy Hoffman, will be in Alexandria, La., for two weeks to replace the crew that recently returned home, according to county Department of Fire and Rescue Services officials.

"I'm proud of the staff that we have helping out in [the] Louisiana area following the recent hurricane activity there," Chief Joseph Herr said in a news release. "Our personnel have worked and continue to work diligently in that area to provide necessary assistance and relief while maintaining a high level of professionalism."

The first-responders had been sent to Louisiana after a request from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, according to the department.
