Lynn E. Brenneman, an attorney who worked in labor and employment, died of colon cancer Friday at her Glen Arm home. She was 39.
Born Lynn Edwards in Washington and raised in Lansdowne, she was a 1986 graduate of Lansdowne High School. She earned a degree in political science from Loyola College and was a 1993 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, where she earned a degree with honors.
She joined the Towson law firm Hodes, Pessin & Katz and worked in the fields of labor, employment and education. At her death, she was a partner.
"She had a brilliant legal mind," said Drake Zaharris, the firm's managing partner, who lives in Towson. "Her legal analyses were always spot-on. She was well-liked by her clients and respected by other lawyers."
She was a member of the Presidents Council for Easter Seals of Central Maryland. She also helped raise $20,000 for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road.
Survivors include Donald Brenneman, her husband of nine years, who works for Alex. Brown Realty; a 5-year-old son, Jackson Brenneman; a 3-year-old daughter, Ava Brenneman; her parents, Harry "Hank" and Kathy Edwards of Lansdowne; two sisters, Lisa Shifflett of Catonsville and Lori Werrell of Leonardtown; and her grandmother, Elsie West of Bethany Beach, Del.
