CHARLES W. PATTERSON, JR., a retired Steelworker and longtime Dundalk resident, died on August 22, 2008, he was 73. Mr. Patterson grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and The University of Baltimore. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. Mr. Patterson was the furnace operator of the basic oxygen furnace at Bethlehem Steel Inc., at Sparrows Point, when he retired. He had 50 years of distinguished service. Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife Patricia, his children Charles W. Patterson and his wife Julie, Patricia Jones and her husband Robert and Linda Patterson-Pupo and her husband Michael. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at the family owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc., 7922 Wise Ave., Wednesday 11 A.M. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M.
