ANDY CASHMAN

Although the Maryland State Fair runs for just 10 days, Andy Cashman's job runs all year long. The fair's assistant general manager for the past 11 years, he is responsible for everything from booking entertainment to locating portable toilets. Cashman, who was in 4-H as a kid, was involved with the Baltimore and Carroll county fairs before taking the job with the state fair. "I just love the fair business and think it's the greatest thing in the world," he says.

Cashman, who lives in New Windsor, is married and has two teenage sons.

"I'd love to have a farm with Hampshire sheep, Hampshire pigs and Angus cattle."

"I collect lots of things. I was an auctioneer prior to being with the fair, and I did a lot of antiques and it was a lot of fun."

"I think that would help the racing industry, which is hurting in Maryland."

A trip to Scotland and England

"I'd like to see where the Hampshire pigs and sheeps are from. I raised them as a kid, and I've always been fascinated by them."
