Rangers update

Texas has either won or split 23 of its past 29 series. The Rangers are 4-2 against the Orioles this season but are hardly at full strength entering their second series this season at Camden Yards. The Rangers lost rookie outfielder David Murphy for four to six weeks after he strained a ligament in his right knee in a collision with New York Yankees catcher Ivan Rodriguez on Wednesday. Brandon Boggs is expected to start regularly in his place. The Rangers also put closer C.J. Wilson on the disabled list this week, with veteran left-hander Eddie Guardado sliding into his role. The Rangers lead the league in batting average but are last in the majors in team ERA and fielding percentage. All-Star center fielder Josh Hamilton, who leads the majors in RBIs, had six home runs in his first 18 games since the All-Star break. All-Star second baseman Ian Kinsler is 10-for-24 with a homer and five RBIs against the Orioles this season.
