While still a nursing student, Sister Elizabeth Anne Corcoran decided to enter the community of the Sisters of Mercy. "Sister Mary Thomas Zinkand (then Mercy president and CEO) was my mentor during my discernment period and a true friend until the day she died," said Corcoran. Since then, she has served in a variety of positions at Mercy Medical Center, including nurse recruiter, director of nursing and vice president for nursing. Corcoran is now assistant to the president for hospitality at Mercy.

Helping hands

"I hope and pray that the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Medical Center will be able to continue our commitment to the needy of Baltimore not only now, but

also in the future."

A trip to Ireland

"Being of Irish descent, it would be nice to have another trip to Ireland and spend some time in Dublin at the Sisters of Mercy International Center and enjoy the lovely people there and the beautiful scenery."

Roller skates

"I think I will need a pair of roller skates to help me walk the halls at Mercy after the new 18-story, state-of-the-art Mary Catherine Bunting Center opens in 2010."

Fitness routine

"It would always be great to get more exercise. Just walking around the city and seeing how downtown Baltimore continues to expand. It would be good for my health."

World peace

"Let us all say we need to have world peace. Wouldn't everyone love that and oh, what a wonderful world we would live in! I do pray very hard for this to happen."
