Health seminars set at Jarrettsville library
Harford County Public Library is offering a series of health seminars this summer.
The next seminar, on Finding Reliable Cancer Information on the Internet, will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jarrettsville branch, 3722 Norrisville Road.
Medical librarians from Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center will discuss how to research for cancer information, how to evaluate Web sites and how to navigate MedlinePlus.gov and other sites.
Children's safety class planned in Bel Air
A free kids safety class will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.

Diabetes group at senior center
Upper Chesapeake Health will offer a parish nurse diabetes support group at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 5 and Aug. 19 at the Aberdeen Senior Center.

Bariatric surgery information is free
A free informational class on bariatric surgery will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace.
Participants can learn from the staff of Upper Chesapeake Bariatric Surgery whether the surgery is right for them.
A support group for those who have had the surgery will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, and Aug. 12 at Harford Memorial Hospital.
Prostate cancer support offered
Upper Chesapeake Medical Center will hold a prostate cancer support group at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 in the Fallston Room.
Men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families are welcome.
16 Al-Anon meetings hosted weekly
Al-Anon holds 16 weekly meetings in Harford and Cecil counties for family and friends of alcoholics.
Anyone who is affected by someone who has an alcoholism problem is welcome.

Health screenings at Upper Chesapeake
Upper Chesapeake Healthlink's Community Wellness Center offers free, walk-in blood pressure, sleep disorder and body composition screenings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Wednesday.
