In only his fourth year as director of Towson University marching band, John Miliauskas will be leading his musicians to the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. When he learned of the selection, Miliauskas felt a combination of excitement and relief; he had been applying for a spot for the past four years.

"They only take well-established bands into the parade," he said.

Miliauskas lives in York County, Pa., with his wife, Sarah, and their 2-month-old daughter, Ava.

Tickets to see Hairspray, the musical

"I would love to take the entire marching band to a Broadway musical while we're in New York City for the Macy's parade.

A night at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

"When my wife and I lived in the West Chester, Pa.-area several years ago, our favorite date was to pack a picnic and go watch the Philadelphia Orchestra perform. ... We'd love to get away for a night and see the BSO."

Baby-sized purple Crocs

"After breaking my heel several years ago, I started wearing Crocs because they were the only shoes that didn't make it painful to walk on my healing injury. ...I think it's only appropriate that I get my two-month-old daughter hooked on Crocs early."

A smaller, more gas-efficient car

"I live in Glen Rock, Pa., so I have at least a 40-minute commute to TU, depending on traffic."

A lime-flavored Edy's Fruit Bar

"My most recent vice! I think I'm addicted to these things."
