Nats update

The Orioles took two of three games from the Nationals last month at Camden Yards. Since moving from Montreal and replacing Philadelphia as the Orioles "regional" rival, the Nationals are 8-7 against the Orioles. The Nationals, who continue to be stung by injuries, have lost seven of their past nine games and have the fewest wins in the National League. However, there have been a few bright spots. Lannan, tomorrow night's starter, has already beaten the Orioles once this season and has five straight quality starts, though he is 0-3 with a 2.90 ERA during that span. Outfielder Elijah Dukes, who was acquired in an offseason trade with Tampa Bay, is hitting .337 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 20 games since June 4. But overall, it has been a struggle for the Nationals' offense, which has a major league-worst .238 batting average. They are also last in the NL in hits and total bases.
