Chesapeake Regional Tech Council is accepting registration for the Fourth Annual Comcast BBQ on the Bay Tech Expo.

The expo will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., July 10 at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis.

BRAC talk at Fort Meade meeting

Fort Meade Alliance will hold its annual meeting and reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., June 26 at the BWI Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum.

Keynote speaker is Asuntha Chiang-Smith, executive director of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Subcabinet for the state of Maryland.

The cost is $35 in advance, $45 at the door for members and government partners, $60 for nonmembers.

LAA recognizes recent graduates

Leadership Anne Arundel (LAA) recognized more than 60 graduates of its Flagship Class and Neighborhood Leadership Academy on June 10 during LAA's annual Tribute to Community Leadership.

Three awards were presented during the ceremony. De'Borah Dent, a graduate of the Neighborhood Leadership Academy, received the Jack Harden Community Champion Award, which provides a full scholarship to LAA's Flagship Program. William Todd, a 2002 graduate of LAA's Executive Leadership Series, received the Patrick M. Lee, Jr. Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, which honors a person who has given tirelessly of his or her time and expertise to LAA. Nadji Maril, a 2002 Flagship Class graduate and Editor-in-Chief of What's Up? Publishing, was named the LAA Distinguished Graduate for 2008 for her significant contributions for the betterment of the community.

Entrepreneur's Exchange meets

The Entrepreneur's Exchange will hold its next meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., July 9 at the Yellowfin Restaurant in Annapolis.

The featured speaker, Melissa Carrier from the University of Maryland, will discuss "What Angel Investors Can Do for the Entrepreneur or Small Business Owner."

The cost is $30 for members, $42 for nonmembers and $25 for students. Walk-ins add $5. The cost includes lunch.

Car show to benefit Boys and Girls Club

Corvette Annapolis will hold its annual Twilight Fun Show, a benefit car show, on July 12 at the Greene Turtle in Edgewater. More than 150 cars are expected to be on display.

Nonfood vendors are welcome to sell or display their goods and services. The cost is $25 for per vendor and vendor must supply own tables, electricity, etc.

The show will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County and The Arc.

Chamber to discuss energy buying pool

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold two informational meetings to discuss the Chamber's members-only energy-buying pool.

The free meetings will be held at 9 a.m. July 15 and at 3 p.m. July 23. Members will be educated on the specifics of deregulations and the next buying pool enrollment period.
