Lois Ruth Knock

Lois Ruth Knock, a retired nurse who enjoyed painting in oils, died of cancer June 13 at the Augsburg Lutheran Home. She was 85 and had lived in Reisterstown.

Born Lois Ruth Krug in Wilkinsburg, Pa. she attended St. Margaret's Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. A registered nurse, she joined the Army Nursing Corps in 1945 and served at Fort Belvoir, Va., Fort Meade and at Schofield Barracks on Oahu, Hawaii.

She moved to Reisterstown in 1977, where she entertained family and friends with her cooking. She also did oil paintings and decorative painting on metal trays and lamps. She also enjoyed travel and made trips to all 50 states.

Plans for a memorial service are incomplete.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Robert B. Knock; a daughter, Clare Kay Johnston Cox of Charlotte, N.C.; and a step-daughter, Patricia Anne Potter of Reisterstown. A marriage to James William Johnston ended in divorce.
