Harford County sheriff's deputies are searching for a 29-year-old Edgewood man in the shooting death of an 18-year-old whose brother also was wounded in the gunfire early yesterday.
Authorities obtained a warrant for the arrest of Gary Dashawn Davenport of the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, said Sgt. Dave Betz, a sheriff's office spokesman.
Taurean P. Williams, 18, was pronounced dead in the 1600 block of Candlewood Drive in Edgewood after deputies responded to a 911 call. His brother, Timothy P. Williams, 20, was shot several times in the upper torso and was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in fair condition late yesterday.
The shootings occurred as several people were hanging out about 3 a.m. in the 1600 block of Candlewood Drive.
Detectives were distributing wanted posters yesterday afternoon and scouring the area for Davenport, Betz said.
Harford County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Davenport's arrest. The 24-hour tip line is 888-540-TIPS.
Betz also said anyone with information about Davenport's whereabouts should call 911 or the Harford County Sheriff's Office at 410-836-6600.
