Whether it's a hot date, a business conference or a walk in the park you're going on, Poppy and Stella has a shoe for "every kind of woman," according to owner Kelley Krohn. The shop, located in Fells Point, sells shoes that range from $30 to $300, and handbags from $30 to $250.

Krohn started out in the mortgage business. But when her sister, Llyndara, opened the first Stella in Vermont, the shop was so successful she thought Baltimore needed one, too. She opened her store in March, and Krohn says she has already had tons of positive reaction from the community.

"I've had two women here buy shoes for job interviews, and they both got the job," she said. "They came back to tell me."

While the shop has expensive designer shoe brands such as Coclico and Oh...Deer!, Krohn tries to offer more affordable brands as well, such as Jeffrey Campbell. The shelves are lined with everything from fancy heels to "comfy shoes" for "tourists who are walking on the cobblestone," Krohn said.

Handbag designers include Hobo, Leaders in Leather and Matt & Nat.
