The River Hill Community Association will sponsor a 50+ Luncheon at noon Tuesday at Claret Hall, 6020 Daybreak Circle in Clarksville.
A representative from the Howard County Office on Aging will present a seminar, "Living Well: Take Charge of Your Health," a six-week series of workshops for people with chronic health conditions.
Admission is $4 for River Hill residents; $5 for nonresidents. Lunch is included.

River Hill students to sponsor play
The River Hill High School Theater Arts Department will sponsor a summer alumni production of Tennessee Williams' classic play, The Glass Menagerie, featuring current and former River Hill fine arts students.
Marriotts Ridge theater arts teacher Sally Livingston will direct, and Amanda Ogorzalek of the River Hill Class of 2008 will assist.
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 26, 27 and 28 in the school's auditorium, 12101 Route 108, Clarksville. Tickets, available at the school's front office or at the door, are $10. Teen space : The Glenwood Community Center's game room for teens is open 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The room, designed by teens, is for ages 12 and older. It includes a pool table, table tennis, bumper pool and a video game area with a big-screen television. After-school activities and programs are planned. Preschool : The Glenwood branch library, 2350 Route 97, Cooksville, will offer preschool classes for young children to teach social skills, comprehension and the foundations of reading. Summer : Mom's Connect of Friendship Baptist Church in Sykesville offers opportunities for mothers and grandmothers and their children to share experiences and support each other. The group will meet for a "Summer in the Park" from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. every other Wednesday at Freedom Park in Sykesville. The theme for the meetings to be held June 25 is "Love, Joy, Peace." Public forum : Howard County Executive Ken Ulman invites residents to join him for an open public forum, to be held at 7 p.m. June 26 at the Glenwood Community Center, 2400 Route 97, Cooksville. County department heads will be on hand to engage in dialogue. Residents are invited to ask questions, make comments or offer suggestions on any topic. Guided hikes : The Howard County conservancy at Mount Pleasant Farm offers guided hikes on the second Saturday of each month from May through October. Families are welcome. The events are free.
*A new solar energy exhibit, demonstrating the workings of the clean, renewable energy source, is on display; the new exhibit will also reduce the conservancy's energy costs. The exhibit includes a solar photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the historic Bank Barn; excess energy will be sent back to the utility grid. The conservancy provides educational programs for children and adults at its Gudelsky Environmental Education Center, including service learning for middle-schoolers and eight weeks of summer camps for children ages 5-11. 410-465-8877.
