TORONTO -- When the top of the fifth inning finally ended yesterday, Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie burst out of the dugout and ran briskly to the mound. He didn't want to waste any time protecting the kind of lead he has waited for all season.
Finally, the Orioles' bats gave some support to their No. 1 starter, battering nemesis A.J. Burnett for eight runs. Guthrie rewarded them with another fine effort, pitching seven innings of one-run ball in a 9-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays before an announced 25,122 at Rogers Centre.
