'Anatomy of a Home' class offered
The Residences at Bulle Rock will offer "The Anatomy of a Home," a continuing-education seminar by Colin McGowan, director of the Frederick Academy of Real Estate, from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at 1200 Bulle Rock Parkway, Havre de Grace.
McGowan will draw on his years of experience in custom home building to address the interior of the home that can't be seen, such as the footers, roofline and everything in between.
Participants will learn about trusses, headers, "on-center," brick and block, drain fields, insulation and more, while earning three hours of continuing-education elective credits valid in Maryland and Delaware.
The event also will feature an "Introduction and Update on BRAC Relocation" from James C. Richardson, Harford County director of economic development.
Registration is $55. The first 50 registrants will receive a June 5 pass, with VIP tent access on the 18th green, to the McDonald's LPGA Championship at the Bulle Rock Golf Course.
Billiards center opens in Bel Air
The Bel Air Billiards Sports Center has opened at 2A Bel Air South Parkway in Bel Air.
Owned and operated by Mark Jason Davis, the center features 11 Olhausen pool tables, 10 plasma-screen TVs, a TouchTones Jukebox and a full-service kitchen.
Davis, a 23-year-old entrepreneur from Bel Air, will graduate from York College of Pennsylvania this month with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He got the idea for the center last summer after waiting at a local bar to play pool with his friends. He developed the idea for the center as a place to play pool, watch sports and eat without the wait, found the site and secured financing.
The Bel Air Billiards Sports Center is open from noon to 2 a.m. daily.
