Robert L. Tucker, a retired Northrop Grumann security manager and former longtime Severna Park resident, died of cancer May 16 at a hospice in Venice, Fla. He was 67.
Mr. Tucker was born in Honolulu and raised in Severna Park and Annapolis. He was a 1959 graduate of Annapolis High School and earned a bachelor's degree in criminology from St. John's University in Springfield, La., in 1994.
He retired in 2000 from Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, where he had been a security manager for 36 years. Earlier, he was a correctional officer at the Maryland House of Correction in Jessup.
His professional memberships included the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association and the American Society for Industrial Security.
Mr. Tucker, who had lived in Venice since 2000, was a member of the Elks and the Moose, and enjoyed playing golf.
His favorite restaurant was the Rose Restaurant, 6075 Belle Grove Road in Linthicum, where a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. June 5.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife of 20 years, the former Sherry LaSalle; two daughters, Belinda York of Pasadena and Tammy Kusyk of Baltimore; a brother, Karl Tucker of Severna Park; a sister, Nancy Cross of Las Cruces, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
