Horse racing

4:30 p.m. [chs. 11, 4]

Coverage from Old Hilltop will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the race scheduled to go off at 6:17 p.m. As many fans know, Big Brown, the winner of the Kentucky Derby, is an enormous favorite in today's 133rd Preakness. The odds indicate that his chief rivals in the 12-horse field will be Gayego, Kentucky Bear and Yankee Bravo. Only Gayego raced in the Derby. The most common observation is that this is Big Brown's race to lose. Trainer Rick Dutrow said a key will be whether the colt breaks cleanly from the gate. Big Brown has the No. 7 post position.
