Nationals update

Washington has won three of its past four games, improving its record to 18-24. First baseman Nick Johnson was placed on the disabled list yesterday with a strained tendon in his right wrist. Dmitri Young, expected to come off the disabled list today, is likely to get most of the playing time. Catcher Johnny Estrada remains on the disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow. The Nationals went 4-2 against the Orioles last season, sweeping a three-game series at Camden Yards in June. Chad Cordero earned his 100th career save in the opener, but he's on the DL for this series. Felipe Lopez hit a tiebreaking, three-run triple in the 11th inning the next night against the Orioles. The Nationals scored a run in the eighth and ninth innings in the finale to take a 3-1 victory.
