Red Sox update

The two-game set at Camden Yards marks the first of 18 meetings between the clubs this season. The reigning World Series champs are 27-9 against the Orioles the past two years. The Red Sox had won six of seven games heading into their weekend series with the Minnesota Twins, but they dropped two of the first three games at the Metrodome heading into last night. All-Star closer Jonathan Papelbon has blown two of his past three save opportunities. Shortstop Julio Lugo is also struggling, posting a major league-high 11 errors. Manny Ramirez, who did not start Sunday's game because of a sore hamstring, is two home runs shy of 500 for his career. After a slow start, David Ortiz has two hits or more in seven of his past 12 games. First baseman Kevin Youkilis is also hot, with 15 hits in his past eight games.
