Elementary school children from Cedar Lane School will visit Glenelg Country School from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. May 19 for a spring fair. Glenelg's ninth-graders will serve as hosts for the event.
The Glenelg students will design stations for the fair that feature different kinds of sensory stimulation. A small team of ninth-graders will serve as greeters and escorts for the Cedar Lane children, their teachers and parent volunteers.
About 10 years ago, David Weeks, a member of the Glenelg faculty, created the fair as a way to teach his students about those with special needs and to provide them with an opportunity for meaningful community service.
