Washington Nationals catcher Paul Lo Duca will be placed on the 15-day disabled list today with a broken right hand.
Lo Duca broke the fourth metacarpal bone in his hand while batting in the seventh inning of a loss to the Houston Astros on Wednesday night. He came off the DL last Friday after he was hit by a pitch and bruised the same hand April 13.
Nationals manager Manny Acta said Lo Duca could be out four to six weeks.
Lo Duca said he might have come back from the earlier injury too quickly.
The Nationals also will place backup catcher Johnny Estrada on the DL with ulnar neuritis in his right elbow.
Washington will call up catcher Jesus Flores and outfielder Elijah Dukes from Triple-A Columbus today to fill the roster spots.
Phillies -- Reigning National League Most Valuable Player Jimmy Rollins is set to rejoin the team today in San Francisco after missing a month with a sprained left ankle.
Blue Jays -- Shortstops David Eckstein (right hip flexor) and John McDonald (sprained right ankle) were placed on the DL. Infielder Joe Inglett was called up from Triple-A Syracuse.
Braves -- Atlanta activated infielder Omar Infante from the DL after he recovered from a broken right hand and placed catcher Brayan Pena on the 15-day DL with a sprained back. ... Reliever Peter Moylan will miss the rest of the season after having elbow-ligament replacement surgery.
Padres -- San Diego placed right-hander Kevin Cameron on the 15-day DL with a right elbow sprain and purchased the contract of left-hander Shawn Estes from Triple-A Portland.
