BRIAN CLEWER, 79

Radio personality

Brian Clewer, a London-born radio personality who was host of Cynic's Choice, a program of British comedy and music that aired in Los Angeles for more than 40 years, and who also owned the Continental Shop for British foods and other goods in Santa Monica, Calif., died of pneumonia April 16 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, said his wife, Suzanne.

He had been a resident of Los Angeles since the early 1960s. His radio show was launched in 1962 and continued until 2005. Mr. Clewer conducted interviews, aired excerpts from comic skits and played British music.
