Works in Progress -- Six historians will discuss their current projects on Baltimore history at this workshop, co-sponsored by the Baltimore City Historical Society and Reginald F. Lewis Museum. Among the scheduled speakers are Howell Baum, professor of Urban Studies at the University of Maryland, Mary Ryan, professor of History at Johns Hopkins University and retired Baltimore Sun reporter and editorial writer, Antero Pietila. Melanie Rigney -- The Eastern Shore Writers' Association presents Melanie Rigney, former editor of Writer's Digest, speaking on "Writing Your Book Proposal." Since 2004, Rigney has helped more than 100 authors, publishers and literary agents with manuscript evaluations, book proposals, content editing, copy editing and coaching. Publication party -- Hollywood writer Billy Mernit reads from and discusses his new novel, Imagine Me and You: A Novel. Mernit began his writing career in his late teens as a composer/lyricist and has had songs recorded by Grammy Award-winner Carly Simon and Judy Collins, among others.
