A Baltimore police officer surrendered to authorities this week after being charged with a third-degree sex offense and child abuse involving a girl who lives out of state, spokesmen for police and city prosecutors said.

The officer, Troy Jacquan Gee Sr., 33, also was charged in March with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old female relative.

Gee, who has been on the force for 11 years and lives in the 5200 block of Sagra Road, remains suspended without pay pending an administrative review that will be conducted after the court cases have concluded, police spokesman Sterling Clifford said.

Gee is charged with seven sex-offense counts, two counts of sexual child abuse, two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, two counts of assault and one count of indecent exposure, among others. The victim's age was not available yesterday.

Police said the first incident occurred in the officer's North Baltimore home and was reported by the victim's mother. The girl told detectives that she was fondled while alone with the suspect in his basement and that he wouldn't let her leave.
