Columbia Bank to expand branch

The Columbia Bank has announced plans to expand its West Friendship branch at 12800 Route 144. The bank has received naming rights for the shopping center formerly known at West Friendship Plaza, and has re-branded it "The Columbia Bank Plaza."

The bank intends to more than double the present size of its branch's 1,200 square feet of space, and create larger offices for the bank's business banking and customer service representatives. The common areas and lobby will also be enlarged.

The Columbia Bank acquired the West Friendship location, which includes two drive-through lanes and an automated teller machine, in 2002.

AllCare to mark grand opening

AllCare of Maryland, a walk-in urgent-care clinic and wellness center with offices in east Columbia, will celebrate the grand opening of an Ellicott City location from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow.

Available will be tours and information about the facility, which offers medical care without an appointment and non-surgical cosmetic services, such as laser hair removal, micro dermabrasion, dermal fillers and weight reduction.

International Day seeking vendors

The Columbia Association is seeking vendors for its 14th annual Columbia International Day, to be held from noon to 11 p.m. July 26 at the Columbia Lakefront Plaza in Town Center.

Also needed are artisans interested in displaying or selling items with an international theme.

Scholarships for Howard women

The Business Women's Network of Howard County has established a Life Long Learners Scholarship fund to help women who are, or will soon be, enrolled in educational, technical or vocational programs to prepare themselves to return to the work force or advance or change their careers.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and live, work or attend classes in Howard County.
