MORRIS L. PERMAN, age 101, passed peacefully at Sholom Home East in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday, April 26, 2008. He was surrounded by family and loving friends. Preceded by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Weinstein Perman. Survived by his daughters, Naomi Ellen Perman (Kenneth Kohnstamm), Barbara Ann Perman (Stephen Bauer); and son, Michael Robert Perman (Jordana Perman); grandchildren, Adam and Alexander Kohnstamm and Emily and Jacob Perman. Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1906, Morris devoted his life to Jewish education and the pursuit of knowledge. He began his career as principal of Beth Tfiloh Day School in Baltimore, Maryland when he was 21 years old. At Anshei Emet Day School in Chicago, he met his wife, Ruth. He also served as Director of Education at Temple Emanuel B'nai Jeshuran in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Talmud Torah of Minneapolis.
