Shooting -- An unidentified man was shot in the back about 4 p.m. yesterday in the 100 block of N. Poppleton St. and was taken by a city Fire Department ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police said the wound was not life-threatening and that no arrest had been made.
Cutting -- Police continue to seek the person who assaulted a 17-year-old boy in the 800 block of E. Lombard St. about 1 a.m. Monday and cut the victim on the left side of his back with a knife. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Theft -- A woman, 24, was walking in the 1800 block of Dundalk Ave. about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday when she was stopped by a man wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap who asked her for a cigarette. Before the woman could reply, the man stole her purse containing credit cards, medication and a cell phone -- all worth $230.
Burglary/arrests -- Police responding to a burglary in progress at a vacant townhouse in the 10000 block of Corioli Way in Owings Mills about 3 p.m. Monday entered the dwelling and arrested 14 teenagers. No property was reported stolen or destroyed; all were charged with fourth-degree burglary and released into their parents' custody.
Robbery try/assault -- Police were seeking three young men who assaulted a man, 23, as he walked in the 8600 block of Walther Blvd. about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and attempted to rob him.
