The planet is cause for festivities at Goucher College on Saturday. Goucher's second annual Earth Day Festival aims to raise awareness of environmental issues while celebrating Earth with live music, food, activities and games. Highlights include a 5K run to raise funds for combating climate change and a rummage sale with local artists and vendors.

Last year, the Baltimore jazz community lost singer Ruby Glover to a stroke at age 77. In honor of the accomplished singer, the American Heart Association hosts "Remembering Ruby" on Saturday. This jazz brunch at St. Francis Academy Community Center offers live jazz, food, healthful cooking demonstrations, free health screenings, games and prizes.

If you love Maryland and cupcakes, you're in luck. Saturday, the 10th annual Maryland Day at the University of Maryland, College Park includes more than 400 activities, and the first 50,000 attendees receive a cupcake. Events across campus include dancing, live music, workshops and lectures.
