No. 1 John Carroll girls rout No. 10 Spalding

The Baltimore Sun

John Carroll coach Krystin Porcella believed her team could use a quick-paced offense to offset host Archbishop Spalding's zone defense. Her plan worked to perfection and resulted in an easier-than-expected 16-4 victory yesterday.

Ally Carey (six goals) and Casey Ancarrow (four goals) paced the top-ranked Patriots' offense and used their speed to get down the field before the No. 10 Cavaliers could set up their defense. John Carroll improved to 14-0.

Dunbar 5, Digital Harbor 4, OT -- Freshman attackman Leo Eades scored three goals -- including the game-winner -- to lead the Poets (4-2) past the host Rams (5-1).
