Hillary Fratzke and Nikki Marcinik each scored three goals and visiting Towson overcame a two-goal half-time deficit to beat Old Dominion, 11-8, in the regular-season finale at Foreman Field yesterday.
The No. 16 Tigers (11-5, 5-2 Colonial Athletic Association) held the Lady Monarchs (4-8, 0-6) to one goal in the second half.
Towson hadn't beaten Old Dominion in three years.
Monmouth 10, Mount St. Mary's 4 -- Katelyn Catanese and Ashley Johnson each scored twice in a losing effort for the visiting Mount (9-8, 5-3 Northeast Conference). The Hawks (13-4, 7-1) used an 8-2 first-half run to clinch the third seed in the NEC tournament, which begins Sunday at Monmouth's Kessler Field.
No. 5 Notre Dame 14, Lehigh 7 -- Ryan Hoff (Dulaney) scored four goals as the visiting Fighting Irish (9-2) won their second straight. Notre Dame broke open a tie at 2 by scoring nine straight. Brian Bienemann and Ricky Cornetta each had two goals for the Mountain Hawks (6-9).
No. 1 Northwestern 16, No. 11 North Carolina 3 -- The host Wildcats (15-0) went on a 7-0 run in the first half to beat the Tar Heels (11-5). Casey Donohoe (Notre Dame Prep), Hannah Nielsen and Danielle Spencer each had three goals for Northwestern, which has won 40 straight games, tying an NCAA record.
No. 8 Georgetown 16, Connecticut 7 -- Freshman Jordy Kirr (Bryn Mawr) recorded a career-high eight points (three goals, five assists) for the visiting Hoyas (10-5, 3-2).
