Class introduces personality test
Suzette Langley will offer a free introduction course to "The Peoplemap program," a psychological instrument that measures personality types, at 10 a.m. Tuesday or Thursday, at RiverWest Marketing, 647 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis.

Tech group to hold business event
The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a "Business Builder" joint breakfast from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carrol's Creek Cafe, 410 Severn Ave., Annapolis.
The cost is $17 for members with advance registration, $22 at the door and $35 for nonmembers.

Expo to feature prizes, exhibitors
The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will hold the Baltimore Washington Business & Technology Expo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 at Medieval Times, Arundel Mills mall, Hanover.
It will feature door prizes, gadgets and services from local businesses and exhibitors from Office Depot, Smead, Hewlett-Packard, 3M and others. The expo is free with a business card.
A networking breakfast will be held at Dave and Buster's in the mall before the expo.
The cost for the breakfast is $25 for members prepaid, $45 for nonmembers and members at the door.

Visitors bureau launches Web site
The Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau has launched a new Web site, www.VisitAnnapolis.org, part of a marketing strategy designed to level the playing field with the bureau's tourism competitors around the globe.
The site, designed by Pittsburgh-based Barkley REI, contains dozens of new images and will offer users access to up-to-date information.
The Web site should also heighten exposure for the organization's more than 450 members.
Publisher wins national awards
Annapolis' What's Up? Publishing won two national awards during the 2008 Folio FAME Awards in New York City.
What's Up? took first place in the category of Best Magazine Launch Party for an event that celebrated the launch of its new magazine, What's Up? Eastern Shore, and second place in the category of Best Awards Program for its "Best of Annapolis" awards party.
Boys & Girls Clubs hires two
Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County has hired Lisa Jacobs as chief development officer and Latonia Kendrick as chief of program operations.
Jacobs previously worked for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis, the Calvert School and most recently, Baltimore Lab, a division of the Lab School of Washington, where she created its first annual giving campaign, bringing in $150,000 in five months.
Now at BGCAA, she will be responsible for community relations, fundraising and events and marketing and communications.
Kendrick worked six years for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford in Connecticut, where she facilitated middle and high school-based incentives serving more than 300 youths during the school year and led forums focused on truancy, violence and development of life skills.
Her new role at BGCAA requires management of staff, strategic programming and services at all five area Boys & Girls Clubs.
Sign store opens in Annapolis
David and Leigh Rand have opened a Fastsigns sign and graphics center at 1907 West St., Suite 101, Annapolis.
The center offers sign and graphic solutions to businesses, organizations and events with banners, signs, exhibit displays and vehicle graphic wraps.
