Two fans at Thursday night's Orioles game were taken to the hospital after one fell from the club-level deck at Camden Yards and landed on the other moments before the Orioles broke a tie to beat the Chicago White Sox in a 10-inning game.
The Orioles called the incident "an unfortunate accident," but would not offer specific details, citing privacy laws.
However, several sources with knowledge of the incident said an adult male was leaning too far over the railing on the first base side of the stadium just above the "Bank of America" advertisement. He fell roughly 30 feet to the main seating bowl, where he landed on another man.
Kevin Cartwright, a city fire department spokesman, said he did not know what injuries, if any, were suffered by the person who fell. The person on the lower level suffered chest pains and was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma, he said. The man who fell was also taken to Shock Trauma, and both were released yesterday, a source said.
The two injured men were conscious when they were taken to the hospital, and neither had life-threatening injuries, sources said.
