Healthcare day talk is planned
Anne Arundel Medical Center will mark National Healthcare Decision Day with a community discussion on end-of-life decision at 7 p.m. today in the Sajak Pavilion.
Members of the public interested in learning more about advance directives are invited to attend. AAMC's patient advocacy team is also distributing advance directive information at the hospital all this week.
Advance directives are legal documents informing medical providers of a patient's wishes regarding end-of-life care.

Earth Day Fair at medical center
Anne Arundel Medical Center will host an Earth Day Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to highlight its commitment to the environment.

AAMC's dedication to the National "Healthy Food in Healthcare Pledge."
AAMC's new battery recycling program.
Vendors of environmentally safe cleaning supplies and reusable shopping bags.
Anne Arundel County's recycling program and how AAMC staff can take part in local recycling programs.
An employee "scrub swap," where employees can swap scrubs for "new" pairs.
Safe bicycle routes to AAMC and free MTA bus tokens and maps.

Wellness Weekend at Camp Letts
YMCA Camp Letts, 4003 Camp Letts Road, Edgewater, will Host its 13th Women's Wellness Weekend May 2 to May 4.
There will be speakers and seminars with information ranging from finance to health and fitness. Activities include a high-ropes adventure, tennis, tarot card readings and trail rides.
The $210 early registration fee is due Friday and includes lodging, food, workshops, entertainment and most camp activities.

Women's Imaging Center opens
The Women's Imaging Center has opened at Chesapeake Medical Imaging in Annapolis, providing all-digital mammography, breast MRI, ultrasound, and bone density studies.
Dr. Helen Mrose has joined the staff Chesapeake Medical Imaging as the center's new director.
Dr. Mrose is a nationally recognized expert in Breast Imaging, bringing more than 20 years experience to Chesapeake Medical Imaging. She received her M.D. and Ph.D. from Yale University. She previously served as Director of Breast Imaging at the University of Maryland Medical Center and at George Washington University.
Kits offered for healthy babies
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health is providing the free Healthy Pregnancy Kit to help increase the number of healthy pregnancies and healthy babies.
Kits include pregnancy information cards, community resource numbers, nutrition advice and healthy eating tips.
