White Sox update
The White Sox beat the Oakland Athletics, 4-1, yesterday and have won three of four heading into the series. Chicago has scored 75 runs, which is among the most in the American League. Catcher A.J. Pierzynski has gotten off to a torrid start with a .421 average, a .737 slugging percentage and a .488 on-base percentage. Pitcher Gavin Floyd (2-0), a Severna Park native and Mount St. Joseph graduate, will start tomorrow in his first professional appearance at Camden Yards. Floyd flirted with a no-hitter in his latest outing, against the Detroit Tigers, allowing one hit and no runs in 7 1/3 innings.
