Kathleen Drenga Glass, a certified public accountant, died of ovarian cancer Saturday at her Westtown, Pa., home. The former Towson resident was 56.
Born Kathleen Drenga in Baltimore and raised in Towson, she was a 1969 Notre Dame Preparatory School graduate. She earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Notre Dame and a master's degree in business administration from Loyola College, where she met her future husband, Dr. G. Daniel Glass, an optometrist.
A certified public accountant, she joined the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen in downtown Baltimore and moved to Philadelphia in 1980. In 2002, when the company closed, she was regional director of finances and human resources and helped hundreds of former employees find new jobs, her husband said.
Since 2004, she had been treasurer and director of finance and administration for East Goshen Township.
She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2003 and was active with the Daylesford Abbey Cancer Support Group and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. She participated in the coalition's program to educate medical students about the disease.
Mrs. Glass enjoyed vacations at Ocean City. She also followed Penn State football and was a roller-coaster enthusiast and participated in family vacations to amusement parks.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, Pa.
In addition to her husband of 30 years, survivors include a son, Daniel Glass of Westtown; two daughters, Monica Glass of New York City and Angela Glass of Westtown; a stepson, Anthony Glass of Bel Air; a sister, Joan Drenga of Towson; and three grandchildren.
