Carter Foote completed her hat trick with 3:17 left in the second overtime to lift visiting the Vanderbilt women over Johns Hopkins, 11-10, yesterday.
Kirby Houck gave the Blue Jays (5-6, 0-1 American Lacrosse Conference) a 9-5 lead with 19:01 left in regulation before the Commodores (8-4, 2-1) went on a 4-0 run, with Foote scoring the last two goals to force overtime.
Lauren Schwarzmann (Century) put Hopkins up 10-9 just 55 seconds into the first overtime. The Commodores' Cara Giordano answered with 2:34 remaining to force a second overtime.
No. 3 Maryland 21, Ohio State 6 -- Dana Dobbie had six goals, two assists and 10 draw controls to pace the Terps (11-1) past the Buckeyes (7-5) in Chapel Hill, N.C. Dobbie scored five of her six goals in the first half, when Maryland built a 14-3 lead.
Towson 11, Drexel 10 -- The visiting Tigers (9-3, 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association) built a 7-2 halftime lead and held off a late rally by the Dragons (8-5, 0-3). Drexel scored six of seven goals in the final eight minutes. Hillary Fratzke had a hat trick for Towson.
Loyola 21, Louisville 18 -- The visiting Greyhounds (5-7) scored five straight goals in 2:13 at the start of the second half. Loyola's Grace Gavin led all scorers with seven goals. Bergan Foley scored six for Louisville.
Mount St. Mary's 15, Villanova 9 -- Breana Waraksa and Katelyn Catanese powered a 7-1 run to lift the visiting Mount (8-5) over the Wildcats (3-8). The Mount led 7-6 before Waraksa scored twice and had two assists during a 5-0 run to help Mount St. Mary's record its fourth straight win.
Frostburg State 20, Shenandoah 11 -- Martin Meredith had five goals and Katie Dannemann and Megan Dent-Carman each had four to power the visiting Bobcats (5-6) past the Hornets (1-9).
Roanoke 31, Hood 2 -- The host Maroons (7-4) - led by Matt Quinto with five goals - outshot the Blazers 70-8 and had a 78-12 advantage on ground balls. Hood fell to 0-14.
