Spring Fair slated April 19

The Mount Hebron Nursery School Parents' Group will hold its 24th annual Spring Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 19, rain or shine, at Mount Hebron Presbyterian Church on Mount Hebron Drive in Ellicott City.

Activities planned for children include pony rides, Moon Bounce, face-painting, crafts, games with prizes, and a Mother's Day Secret Shoppe. Books, food, cotton candy and baked goods will be for sale.

Performances by Kinetics Dance Studio, Kangaroo Kids precision jump rope team and the Teelin School of Irish Dance, and demonstrations of Tae Kwon Do are planned.

The Orioles mascot is to be on hand.

Tickets for games and activities can be purchased at the fair. Admission and parking are free.

Meeting scheduled on condominiums

The Greater Elkridge Community Association urges its members to attend a pre-submission meeting for Riverwatch, a condominium project of 95 units and retail space projected for 5 acres on Furnace Road.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. April 21 at the Melville Chapel United Methodist Church, 5660 Furnace Avenue, Elkridge.

Waterloo carnival to be Saturday

Waterloo Elementary School will hold its first Waterloo Spring Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

A dunk tank, prizes, a tub of war, inflatables, a silent auction, games music, crafts and popcorn and cotton candy are planned.

Kiwanis Club meets Mondays

Kiwanis Club of Ellicott City, a volunteer service organization, meets at 6:45 p.m. Mondays at the Kiwanis-Wallas Building, 3300 Norberts Way, Ellicott City.

Completes training -- Marine Corps Pvt. Jason D. Glanville, grandson of Clair H. Kriete of Ellicott City, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

College scholarships -- The Elkridge Adult Athletic Association, a 30-year-old community association, will accept college scholarship applications from high school seniors until April 19. At least three scholarships will be awarded. Danny Tracy, 410-796-4389.

Free bridge, other games -- The Kiwanis-Wallas Recreation Center is offering free drop-in bridge and pinochle and favorite table games. A bridge group meets from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays; Pinochle meets from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Those who attend are invited to bring a bag lunch. Coffee, tea and treats will be provided. Donations are accepted for the snack fund.

Duplicate bridge is available from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays. Mah-jongg is played at the center from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Admission is free.

A Bunco program for people ages 55 and older, sponsored by Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks, will meet at the center from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. April 28, June 23, July 28 and Aug. 25. A $1 donation is requested at the door.
