Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five

Hits allowed by Centennial senior pitcher Ben Winter in the Eagles' 13-0, five-inning win over Atholton on Friday. Winter, last year's Howard County Player of the Year, also had a double, triple and two walks in the win.


Runs scored by the Centennial softball team in a 17-3 win over Glen Burnie in its season opener last Wednesday. Senior pitcher Katie Hobson got the win and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored, and junior shortstop Meg Tucker went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a triple. In last season's opener, the Eagles lost, 6-0, to the Gophers.
