The Baltimore Sun

A man and woman have been charged in the holdup of a Linthicum pharmacy, possibly with a toy handgun, Anne Arundel County police said.

An employee of the CVS in the 7000 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. said a man came in around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, displayed a silver-colored handgun and demanded money. The employee and the man struggled, and the attacker fled and jumped into the passenger side of a white Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Police pulled the vehicle over on Ritchie Highway near Americana Circle and arrested the driver, Kathryn Shannon Durden of the 700 block of Elmhurst Station Road in Severn, and the passenger, Russell Charles Wilkins of the 700 block of Griffith Road in Glen Burnie. Police found a silver-colored toy handgun on the passenger's seat.

Wilkins was charged with robbery, armed robbery and assault. Durden was charged with robbery and being an accessory after the fact.

Police responding to a report of youths tampering with vehicles arrested three Glen Burnie teenagers, Anne Arundel County police said.

Officers who arrived in the 300 block of Gatewood Court about 1 a.m. Thursday came upon the teens next to a white Infinity Q45 that had been tampered with. Money, a wallet and several compact discs that had been stolen from the car were found on or near the juveniles, police said.

The suspects, ages 14 to 17, were charged with theft of less than $500, and rogue and vagabond offenses. One was charged with possession of marijuana.

Man, 74, critically hurt when struck by car

An Edgewater man was critically injured when he was struck by a car on Mayo Road, Anne Arundel County police said.

Robert Daniel Taylor, 74, of the 1600 block of Whiteford Place was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothes when he stepped onto the road just north of Potomac Road in the predawn darkness about 6 a.m. Thursday and was struck by a southbound 1998 Toyota Corolla driven by Jatin Narhariprasad Vyas, 41, police said.

Taylor was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said. Vyas was not injured.

Police said neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor in the crash and that an investigation is continuing.
