Baltimore

Eastern

Arrests -- Two men wanted on handgun charges were arrested yesterday afternoon after leading police on a medium-speed pursuit through the city that began in East Baltimore and ended in South Baltimore. While the crew of a police helicopter flew above the vehicle and advised ground units of the car's location, the vehicle was stopped about 6 p.m. by police at Key Highway and Webster Street near the Baltimore Museum of Industry. Police arrested the men at gunpoint. Police said that what appeared to be several pieces crack cocaine were thrown from the car during the chase.

Northwestern

Robbery try/shootng -- A man, 26, was reported in good condition at Sinai Hospital after he was shot Tuesday night during an attempted robbery in the 3300 block of St. Ambrose Ave. The victim was walking near his home about 8:50 p.m. when he was stopped by a gunman who demanded his money. When the victim turned to run, the gunman shot him once in the back and then fled on foot. No arrest had been made.

Central

Burglary -- Someone broke into a house in the 800 block of Newington Ave. in Reservoir Hill through a rear window Monday and removed a laptop computer, a digital camera and a computer work station.

Theft/arrest -- A man, 34, from the 400 block of Southway was arrested Monday after he left Rite Aid in the 300 block of W. Lexington St. without paying for baked goods valued at $2.76. A store security officer observed the theft on a surveillance camera and detained the man outside until police arrived and arrested him. His name was not available.

Burglary -- Someone entered an auto repair shop in the 100 block of E. Trenton St. through the front door Monday and stole a black 1999 Lexus GS-400 with unknown tags.

Burglary -- A resident of the 1000 block of Cathedral St. reported someone broke into his apartment Sunday or Monday and stole $300.

Western

Armed robbery -- A man, 52, was driving in the 3900 block of Reisterstown Road about 4 p.m. Monday when he was stopped by a woman who asked if he would drive her and her sick female friend to Mondawmin Mall. After arriving there, the first woman drew a semiautomatic handgun from her purse and robbed the driver of his wallet containing $30, a spare key and credit cards. When the driver struggled with the armed woman, she struck him in the face before she and her accomplice fled on foot. The victim told police that one of the women had the tattoo of a woman's name on her lower back. The man suffered a minor injury that did not require medical attention. Anyone with information is urged to call the district's detective unit 410-396-2477.

Theft -- A laptop computer was stolen between March 21 and Monday from a 2001 Chevrolet truck parked in the 3500 block of Woodbrook Ave.

Burglary -- Copper pipes valued at $600 were stolen Monday from the basement of a house in the 500 block of N. Stricker St. by someone who entered after kicking in the front door.

Southeastern

Cutting -- A girl, 11, was arguing with several other girls in the 2800 block of Orleans St. about 3 p.m. Monday when one of them pulled out a sharp weapon and cut the victim on the left side of her back. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was reported in good condition.

Burglary -- Three empty parking meters were stolen between Saturday and Monday from a city-owned storage unit in the 6200 block of E. Lombard St. The meters were valued at nearly $650.

Theft -- A GPS system, a suitcase containing clothing and a purse containing $20 -- all valued at $850 -- were stolen Sunday or Monday from a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu parked in the 1700 block of Thames St.

Theft -- A 2007 Jeep was parked in the 2800 block of Boston St. on Monday when someone removed two of the vehicle's side panels. The panels had a total value of $1,000.

Baltimore County

White Marsh

Burglary -- Nearly 200 feet of copper wire and a generator -- all valued at $2,000 -- were stolen Saturday or Sunday from a house under construction in the 5300 block of Forge Road.

Cockeysville

Burglary -- Five laptop computers and other items were stolen from Select Associates Inc. in the first block of Gerard Ave. in Timonium between Saturday and Monday.

Wilkens

Burglary -- A digital video disc player, a watch, a laptop computer and a camcorder -- all valued at $4,700 -- were stolen Sunday or Monday from a house in the 900 block of Wilton Drive by someone who entered through a rear door after breaking a window.
