The funeral for Charles L. Benton Jr., a longtime aide to former Gov. William Donald Schaefer, will take place at noon tomorrow at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road in Towson.
Mr. Benton, who died of pneumonia Saturday at age 91, worked for 30 years overseeing the city of Baltimore's budget, helping to finance the city's revival, including the Inner Harbor. He was instrumental in financing Byrd Stadium at the University of Maryland, College Park and also helped to save that school's hospital from bankruptcy.
A viewing will take place at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
