Health fair, walk to be held April 26

The Freestate Happy Wanderers will hold a walk and health fair April 26 at St. Vincent Pallotti High School, 113 St. Mary's Place, Laurel.

Walkers can start any time between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and must finish the walk by 4 p.m. Participants are asked to bring nonperishable food items, used T-shirts that are in good condition and hotel soaps and shampoos to be donated to a charity.

Health care representatives will be on hand to talk about therapies: A podiatrist, acupuncturist, nutritionist, and laughter therapist have agreed to attend.

The fee for the walk is $3; children can walk for free. Admission to the health fair is free.

Herpes to be topic of talk March 31

Dr. Kimberly Turner & Associates, a Columbia obstetrics and gynecology practice, will sponsor a free talk by Dr. Val Petrosian, "Herpes: The Latest Research on Prevention and Treatment," at 7 p.m. March 31 at 10722 Hickory Ridge Road, Columbia.

Registration is requested by March 27. A $5 donation to the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County is requested but not required.
