THE WEEK AHEAD

No. 4 Navy (6-1)

Coming up: vs. No. 16 Bucknell, today, 4 p.m.; at Colgate, Sunday, noon.

Comment: The Midshipmen's 16-game winning streak against Patriot League opponents began after a 6-3 loss to Colgate on March 18, 2006. Attackman Tim Paul has recorded a team-leading five multi-goal games this season.

No. 8 Johns Hopkins (3-2)

Coming up: At No. 2 Virginia, Saturday, 4 p.m.

Comment: The Blue Jays, who are 13-4 in overtime under coach Dave Pietramala, have lost two overtime games in the same season for the first time since 1997. Senior defensive midfielder George Castle matched his career high with a goal against Syracuse on Saturday.

No. 9 Maryland (5-2)

Coming up: At No. 3 North Carolina, Saturday, 6 p.m.

Comment: The Terps' run of five straight victories over the Tar Heels could be in jeopardy if they don't solve junior goalkeeper Grant Zimmerman. Freshman attackman Ryan Young is the only Terp to post a point in every game this season.

No. 13 Loyola (3-3)

Coming up: At Massachusetts, Saturday, 2 p.m.

Comment: The Greyhounds and Georgetown sit atop the ECAC standings with 2-0 records. Sophomore attackman Cooper MacDonnell, who scored three goals last season, has a team-leading 11 thus far.

No. 18 UMBC (3-3)

Coming up: At No. 17 Ohio State, Saturday, noon.

Comment: Counting Friday's 9-8 win in triple overtime over Maryland, the Retrievers have won four consecutive overtime games. Junior goalie Jeremy Blevins ranks sixth in school history in career saves with 387.

No. 19 Towson (1-3)

Coming up: At No. 20 Hofstra, Friday, 7 p.m.; vs. No. 16 Bucknell, Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Comment: The Tigers are in danger of starting 1-4 for the first time since 2000. With 89 career goals, senior attackman Jonathan Engelke has tied Bobby Griebe and Tom Wagner for eighth place on Towson's career scoring list.

Mount St. Mary's (0-5)

Coming up: At Wagner, Saturday, 3 p.m.

Comment: A key to the Mountaineers' slide has been an inability to limit man-down goals, with opponents converting 11 of 20 chances. Senior attackman Joe Derwent leads the team in assists this season with five.
