Workshops set for caregivers
The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities is offering a series of three caregiver workshops at area senior centers.
Mary Fridley, a nurse and elder care expert with the county, will lead the three National Family Caregiver Support programs: "Is There Help Out There? Resources and Services," "Elder Speak: When a Loved One Won't Listen," and "I'm Not Waving, I'm Drowning: Emotions and Coping Skills."
Maryland City Senior Center, 8402 Brock Bridge Road: April 22, 29 and May 6 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Pasadena Senior Center, 4103 Mountain Road: May 14, 21 and 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Pascal Senior Center., 125 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie: April 15, 22 and 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Irish music and dancing -- The Wild Irish Roses, a pair of singing sisters, will perform Irish dancing and fiddle music at 1 p.m. today at the South County Senior Center, 27 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater. 410-222-1927.

Computer classes -- Registration has begun for computer classes that start the week of April 7 at the Pascal Senior Center, 125 Dorsey Road in Glen Burnie. New England trip -- A tour of New England featuring the House of Seven Gables in Salem, Mass., and Belcourt Castle in Rhode Island, will be offered by South County Senior Center, 27 Stepneys Lane, from June 3 through 5. Canadian Rockies trip -- A trip to the Canadian Rockies is being offered by South County Senior Center from Aug. 14 to Aug. 22. The trip includes a two-day stay at Banff and a stop at Lake Louise.
