Pianist's musical world extends well beyond the classical

The Baltimore Sun

Not many pianists perform music of Bach, Beethoven and daunting contemporary fare by the likes of Pierre Boulez, Elliott Carter and Gyorgy Ligeti with equal mastery and insight. Not many pianists have collaborated with nearly all the world's A-list conductors and orchestras, as well as AKA Pygmies, the Sub-Saharan world music group.

But Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who makes his Baltimore debut today for the Shriver Hall Concert Series, has always stood out.
