Mount St. Mary's can't stop No. 2 Virginia in 20-2 loss

Nation Freshman T.C. DiBartolo (Archbishop Spalding) tied a career-high in saves - making all 18 in the first half for Mount St. Mary's - but it wasn't enough to beat No. 2 Virginia, as the host Mountaineers lost, 20-2.

Dan Mohr scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season and Kevin Walker recorded his first career goal for Mount St. Mary's (0-4).

Garrett Billings paced Virginia (7-0) with four goals and two assists while Ben Rubeor had two goals and two assists.

The Cavaliers were Mount St. Mary's fourth straight ranked opponent.

Mount goalkeeper Kyle Overs played in the second half and made 11 saves.

No. 1 Duke 18, Presbyterian 4 -- Terrence Molinari scored four goals and Josh Coveleski and Zach Howell had hat tricks to lead the host Blue Devils (6-0) past the Blue Hose (0-5). Duke scored four goals in the opening four minutes and led 7-0 after one period. Coveleski scored two goals in the second quarter as the Blue Devils led 11-0 at halftime. The Blue Devils have won 21 of their past 23 home games and are 59-11 since 2000.

No. 3 North Carolina 8, Providence 6 -- Junior attackman Bart Wagner scored the go-ahead goal with 6:55 to play, as the Tar Heels withstood a spirited effort by the host Friars. North Carolina trailed 5-4 heading into the fourth quarter and outscored Providence 4-1 in the quarter. Wagner led the Tar Heels with his first hat trick of the season while Colin Tigh led the Friars (0-5) with three goals. This was also the first time North Carolina (5-0) has trailed heading into the fourth quarter and rallied to win since March 20, 2004. North Carolina outshot the Friars 31-24 and had the same advantage in ground balls. The Friars had a 9-8 edge on faceoffs. Tar Heels junior Grant Zimmerman continued his solid play in goal, making nine saves. Providence's Robert Bryan made 12 saves.

State women

Salisbury 21, Villa Julie 2 -- Jessica Chmielewski scored a game-high five goals as the Sea Gulls (8-0, 4-0 Capital Athletic Conference) defeated the host Mustangs (2-2, 1-2). The Sea Gulls dominated early, taking a 12-0 halftime lead. The Mustangs scored their first goal three minutes into the second half to make the score 14-1. Kim Cudmore and Jessica Liston recorded hat tricks for Salisbury, and Beth Rhodey added two goals and a game-high four assists. Kristyna Hnizda and Lisa Baker scored Villa Julie's goals.

Cabrini 20, College of Notre Dame 9 -- Despite four goals from Anne Shippen, the Gators (0-2, 0-1 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference) fell to the host Cavaliers (1-0, 1-0). Amelia Yatto scored twice in the loss, and Amanda Arkwright made 10 saves. Danielle Rothermel had five goals to lead Cabrini.

York 23, Hood 3 -- Lauren Perzan, Jayme Frost and Brandy Noel each scored in the Blazers' loss to the visiting Spartans (3-3, 1-2 Pennsylvania Athletic). Noel got her team-leading seventh goal of the season late in the first half off an assist from Jen Graham. Senior Lauren Lieb made 11 saves for Hood (0-6, 0-4).
