A seminar for livestock owners, or those interested in getting started, will be at 7 p.m. March 25 at Circle D Farm in Woodbine. The seminar will be sponsored by The Howard Soil Conservation District, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service and Maryland Cooperative Extension.

Fire company to hold basket bingo
The Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company will hold a basket bingo Friday at the company hall, 1330 Woodbine Road, Lisbon. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bingo begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door, if available. A ticket includes 20 games. Prizes are all Longaberger Baskets, pottery and wrought iron items filled with goodies. Food will be available for sale.

Flea market planned March 29
Glenwood Community Center will host an outdoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 29 at 2400 Rte. 97 in Cooksville.
The flea market is free for shoppers. Cost to reserve space is $15, with an additional $5 for use of a 6-foot table. Reservations are required one week in advance; must be 18 years or older.

Glenelg High to hold anniversary event
Glenelg High School will hold its 50th anniversary celebration from 6 p.m. to midnight April 5 at the Howard County Fairgrounds Main Exhibition Hall. Classes from 1959 to 2008 are invited.
Tickets are $40 and include: door prizes, games and auctions, mechanical bull, pit beef and turkey, pulled pork, salads and desserts. Draft beer, wine and sodas will be served, and there will be a cash liquor bar. Music will be provided by "Checkered Past."

Construction halted -- Construction of the roundabout at Brighton Dam and Ten Oaks roads in Clarksville has been temporarily halted. Construction is expected to resume next month as temperatures rise. Traffic patterns on Brighton Dam Road and Ten Oaks Road will be maintained during the halt in construction. Teen space -- The Glenwood Community Center's game room for teens is open from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The room, designed by teenagers, is for young people ages 12 and older. It includes a pool table, table tennis, bumper pool and a video game area around a big-screen television set. After-school activities and teen programs are planned.
