Essex man fatally shot in parking lot at home
An Essex man was fatally shot in a parking lot in front of his residence early yesterday, Baltimore County police said.
Joram Shijenje, 34, of the 1100 block of Tace Drive was found dead of a gunshot wound shortly after 1 a.m., police said. Officers were called to the area after residents reported hearing gunshots.
Tace Drive is in a residential community south of Southeast Boulevard and just north of Sandalwood Elementary School.
Detectives said they did not know of a motive for the killing, and no arrest had been made.

2 College Park women molested
Prince George's County police are urging College Park residents to be on the alert after a man entered two homes on Hopkins Avenue early Sunday, groping a sleeping woman and kissing another.
Between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., the man entered a home in the 7300 block of Hopkins Ave. and kissed the cheek of a woman whose boyfriend was also sleeping in the home, police said. When she awoke, the intruder fled.
Between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., in the 7500 block of Hopkins Ave., a woman awoke to find a man groping her, police said. She screamed, and he fled.
The man is described as white, in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with dark hair, dark eyes and large eyebrows, and wearing a black wool jacket and dark pants.
Police advised residents to keep doors and windows locked and to report suspicious activity.
In September, a student was raped and three others were kissed or fondled in similar incidents nearby.

Bail $500,000 in slaying case
A Cecil County District Court judge has set bail at $500,000 for a Port Deposit woman charged with second-degree murder in the strangling of her mother.
According to charging documents, 26-year-old Tina Hamm told police she blacked out Feb. 16 after taking prescription medication and drinking alcohol, and had a hazy recollection of what happened next.
The documents say Hamm told police she believed she had strangled her 50-year-old mother, Janie Hamm, inside their mobile home and that she recalled dragging the body to woods nearby.
Police said Hamm led investigators to the body Saturday evening. Hamm had reported her mother missing Feb. 18.

Man, 45, fatally stabbed
A male resident of Lakeview Tower Apartments in the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive died yesterday after being stabbed outside the building, police spokesman Agent Donny Moses said. Dalion Stanley, 45, was arguing with someone about 2:50 a.m. when he was stabbed in the chest, Moses said, and was pronounced dead at Maryland Shock Trauma Center at 3:40 a.m.
Also yesterday, an autopsy on an unidentified man who was found Monday night in the 2800 block of W. Lafayette Ave. found that the man had been shot. His death was ruled a homicide.
